I'm tired of being looked down upon because of my gender or my age.  I am   tenacious (though some would say stubborn)and I fight for what I believe.  I realized at a very young age nobody in this world is going to hand me the things I want on a silver platter, and everything I have I've worked hard to get.  My life has been hard, and I've been through phases where I hated everything, including myself. I finally realized ,though, that instead of hating the world for what it is, which is useless, I should put my energy to better use and try and improve it.  Now my goal is to (as Ghandi said) “be the change [I] want to see in the world”. 

I am of mixed ethnicity and that has been one of the biggest blessings of my life.  It has made me open-minded and understanding of the different ways people choose to live their lives, the decisions they make, and the opinions they hold; though I may not always agree, I can at least relate.

To sum up how I'm trying to live my life now: I just want to live and feel every moment because I've spent too much of my young life feeling numb, I want to speak and voice my opinions because I've spent too much of my life being silenced, I want to jump and dance because I've spent too much of my life being still, I want to learn and teach because I've spent too much of my life feeling ignorant, and I want to make an impact because I've spent too much of life feeling useless.
